Hello there.
I was looking into schooling lately and I believe that I’d like to be a Japanese interpreter and or translator. (I haven’t quite decided which yet.) what i’d like to know is, what kinds of interpreters and translators are there? Here’s a list of the ones i already know of:
*Guide or escort interpreters
*Judiciary interpreters and translators
*Literary translators
*Localization translators
*Medical interpreters and translators
*Sign language interpreters
also, what other kinds of jobs involve knowing a second or third language? any information would be useful. thank you! <3

I really like chinese (and I’m currently learning it). I also want to learn japanese and korean. I don’t know if you can major in foreign language. But I know that you can be a teacher, a translator, anything else?

I have finished all of my university requirements, except for my foreign language. however I’m at a point in my life where taking 1 class in one town is a major inconviencence, i travel around a lot, and have jobs in multiple states, its time for me to stop being stuck in one location 9 months out of the year, especially for one class. im hoping that there is some university in the united states that is accredited so that i can transfer the credits back to my old university, and get my diploma.
thanks in advance.
